In collaboration with BMW and Thule, we developed a new generation of roof boxes and roof rack systems. The goal during development was to incorporate the design and engineering philosophy of the “Neue Klasse” and create a harmonious look.
The modern, monolithic character of the new vehicle generation defined the design target of all components, while aerodynamic optimization pursued a central technical goal: minimizing drag to preserve range, particularly in the context of electric mobility.
During digital development, Aerodynamic insights and complex package-related requirements led our decisions as we translated the creative vision into functional products. Each iteration brought us closer to production while maintaining the clean, monolithic character.
The product family is characterized by a clear design approach across all parts, from the roofbox components to the roof racks. Taut surfacing and meticulously crafted volumes result in visual clarity and aerodynamic efficiency. The result is a harmonious addition to the vehicle seamlessly blending to one coherent appearance.
