With the Roof Sensor Module (RSM), Webasto is presenting a vision of the roof for the future of autonomous driving. Along with numerous other joint projects, this innovative initiative represents just one aspect of our long-standing partnership built on trust.
Positioned at the highest point of the car, the concept represents a symbiosis of seamless integration and emotional staging. The design team also placed special emphasis on the product’s premium and high-quality appearance.
Early in the ideation phase, the complex technical package including Lidar emitter surfaces, spray nozzles, and aerodynamics was incorporated. During the 3D development phase, the creative vision and the specifications were further aligned and developed into a cohesive and functional component.
On display at the International Motor Show, the concept demonstrated how complex technology—in the form of sensors—can be integrated into the autonomous vehicles of the future in an elegant, dynamic, and appealing way.
